SGI Canada General Director Visits Kelowna

On Monday July 25, SGI Canada General Director Tony Meers arrived in Kelowna, BC for a two-day visit. Area leaders Michael and Helene Bourque accompanied Tony for his visit.
That Monday evening, an introduction to Buddhism meeting was held where the niece of Michael and Helene officially joined as a member of SGI Canada. She had travelled five hours from her home in Salmo, BC to receive her Gohonzon. She was accompanied by the women’s district leader from Rossland, BC in the Kootenay area.
The following morning, men’s and women’s meetings were held, and in the evening, a discussion meeting centring on the theme of mentor and disciple was held at the district municipality of Lake Country outside Kelowna. This meeting, attended by 18 participants was very encouraging for the members and guests present.
